Hemis Monastery

Hemis Monastery is situated in Ladakh. It is not one of the largest, but it’s one of the oldest monasteries in the whole India. The local people of India say that this monastery is existed since the 11th century and was re-built in the year 1652. It is the house of famous and ancient sacred thangkas and relics.
